Mike Mendoza was born on February 12, 1981 in Covina, California and is the oldest of three brothers. He grew up in nearby Ontario, where the golf bug bit him at five years old. His father, Steve, took him to the driving range for the first time at Ontario National Golf Club.
He played junior golf in Southern California from 10 to 18 years old. After graduating from Bishop Amat Memorial High School in La Puente, Calif. in 1999, Mike was awarded a golf scholarship to Cal State University Northridge.
For a short time after college, Mike lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and played professional golf on the Butch Harmon Tour in 2007.
Mike started at TaylorMade Golf Co. in 2010 in the Customer Service Department and became an Outside Sales Representative in the Central Pennsylvania territory in 2012. He currently resides with his wife, Lilia, as the Sales Rep in Denver, Colo.
Every job Mike’s ever had leading up to his career as a Sales Representative for TaylorMade Golf has been in the golf industry. He knew at a young age that his passion was golf. It’s his language and what he knows best.
Mike’s experience growing up in the golf business and his comfort, confidence, and humor in front of golf professionals has been the key to his success.
