National Golf Day 10-Year Anniversary Community Service Project - April 25
This year, in celebration of our 10 Year Anniversary of bringing National Golf Day to Capitol Hill, we will converge on the National Mall for a ½ day event focused on beautification and preservation of this area.
Working with Michael Stachowicz, Turf Management Specialist of the National Park Service, we will focus on projects from the U.S. Capitol Building to 7th Street. These projects may include such activities as raking, overseeding, aerating, brushing walkways and sprucing up gravel pathways. All participants will be divided into teams and each team will be assigned a team captain who will oversee the project. Food and water, as well as appropriate equipment and supplies will be provided.
Additionally, PGA Professionals from the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America will be on hand to provide helpful tips and mini lessons to those taking in the sights at the National Mall.
The community service project and lessons will run from approximately 8:00 am – Noon on Tuesday, April 25 with a briefing meeting being held from 4:00 – 5:30 pm on Monday, April 24 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, which is the host hotel for National Golf Day.
Transportation to the National Mall from the Hyatt Regency will be provided, as well as return transportation.
We are still in the process of finalizing the event. Once finalized, you can expect to receive additional information on:
- Specific tasks to be completed
- What team you will be on

We look forward to this exciting addition to our time in D.C. and to enhancing the beauty of the National Mall for the surrounding community and all visitors to the D.C. area.
